Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins hnRNPs) are predominantly nuclear RNA-binding proteins that form complexes with RNA polymerase II transcripts. These proteins function in a variety of cellular activities, ranging from transcription and pre-mRNA processing in the nucleus to cytoplasmic mRNA translation and turnover (1). hnRNP C1/C2 is one of the most abundant proteins in the nucleus, and shown to have roles in cellular differentiation and proliferation (2). A novel nuclear export is activated by the ROCK signaling pathway to exclude hnRNP C1/C2 from\nthe nucleus, by which the compartmentalization of specific hnRNP components is disturbed in apoptotic cells (3). Overexpression of hnRNP C1/C2 in hepatocellular carcinoma HCC) tissues has been reported in 70 HCC samples, suggesting its potential as a protein tumor marker (4).\nSpecificity: A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the N-terminus of human hnRNP C1/C2 was used as an immunogen.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:50,000-1:100,000\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:250\nImmunocytochemistry: 1:100-1:250\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
