Established from the pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma of a female Syrian (Golden) hamster (Mesocricetus auratus) induced by treatment with BHP (chemical carcinogen); sister cell line of HPD-2NR; described to be homotransplantable (i.e. in other syngeneic hamsters) and to carry a mutation in exon 1 of the c-Ki-ras oncogene
