Human Renal Cells include cells isolated from various normal human kidney tissue specific to each cell type. Human Renal Proximal Tubule Cells (RPTEC) are isolated from the proximal tubule. Renal Epithelial Cells (HRE) are a mixture of epithelial cells from the cortex and glomerular. Renal Cortical Cells (HRCE) are a mixture of proximal tubule and distal tubule. Mesangial Cells (NHMC) are isolated from the renal glomerulus and modified SMC between capillaries.
Diabetic Renal Proximal Tubule Epithelial Cells are isolated from human donors that have been diagnosed with diabetes type II disease. Further donor information, including medications, BMI, and disease duration may be obtained by contacting Scientific Support. Diseased cells are grown in the same optimized media system as Normal Human Renal Cells.
Applications:
Renal physiology
Diabetes Type II
Cancer
Cytokine production
Glomerulonephritis
Prostaglandin activity
Toxicology
Phagocytosis of immune complexes
Cellular function and differentiation
All cell types are guaranteed through 15 population doublings. RPTEC are guaranteed to test positive for gamma-GTP. HRE are guaranteed to test positive for pan cytokeratin. HRCE are guaranteed to stain positive for cytokeratin. NHMC are guaranteed to test positive for fibronectin and negative for cytokeratin 19 and von Willebrand Factor VIII. All cells test negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi. HIV-1, hepatitis B and hepatitis C are not detected for all donors and/or cell lots.
