Hydroxyoctadecadienoic Acid 13(S) (HODE)

13(S)-HODE (13(S)-hydroxyoctadecadienoic acid) is a 15-lipoxygenase metabolite of linoleic acid produced in endothelial cells, leukocytes, and tumor cells. The biological effects of 13(S)-HODE include inhibition of tumor cell adhesion to the endothelium at concentrations around 1uM,1,2 and down regulation of IRGpIIb/IIIa receptor expression.3 13(S)-HODE methyl ester is a neutral, more lipophilic form of the free acid that can been used as an analytical standard for 13(S)-HODE.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in RIA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nRIA: 2ug/well\nOptimum dilutions to be determined by researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
