IFNB1 (Interferon beta, IFN-beta, Fibroblast Interferon, IFB, IFNB)

interferon beta (IFN Beta), a 22kD cytokine with wide-ranging antiviral, antimicrobial and antitumor effects. Interferons also serve to activate macrophages, natural killer cells and the presentation of antigens to the immune system by the major histocompatibility complex. The production of interferon is induced in response to microbes and other cytokines. The interferons are widely used to treat a variety of diseases and IFNB in particular is used to treat relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Neutralization. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: To detect Human IFN-beta by sandwich ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2ug/ml of this antibody is required.\nWestern Blot: To detect Human IFN-beta by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2ug/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human IFN-beta is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.\nImmunohistochemistry: This antibody stained formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of human normal placenta. The recommended concentration is 0.75ug/ml with an overnight incubation at 4?C. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen. ;Heat induced antigen retrieval with a pH 6.0 sodium citrate buffer is recommended. Optimal concentrations and conditions may vary.\nNeutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition of the biological activity of Human IFN-beta (5ug/ml), a concentration of 2.5ug/ml of this antibody is required.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
