IGF-I (insulin-like Growth Factor-I) is a polypeptide growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of cell types including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue. Rat IGF-I is a 7.69kD protein containing 70aa residues plus an additional 21aa as N-terminal His-tag.
Source:
Recombinant corresponding to rat IGF-I expressed in E.coli.
Wolecular Weight:
~8kD
Biological Activity:
The ED50 was determined by two methods: 1) By stimulation of protein synthesis in rat L6 myoblasts, the ED50 was found to be ~30ng/ml; 2) By Type I IGF receptor binding assay, the ED50 was found to be ~10ng/ml.
Endotoxin:
~0.1ng/ul
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
