IKI3 (Elongator comple, Xenopus/Amphibian, protein 1) acts as a subunit of the RNA polymerase II elongator comple, Xenopus/Amphibian,, which is a histone acetyltransferase component of the RNA polymerase II (Pol II) holoenzyme, and is involved in transcriptional elongation. IKI3 plays a role in chromatin remodeling and is involved in acetylation of histones H3 and H4.
