Interleukin four-induced gene 1 (IL-4I1) was first identified in mouse B cells as part of the response to IL-4, a key regulator of the immune response. Later, the enzyme was shown to be a member of the flavin-containing amino acid oxidase family and closely related to L-amino acid oxidases. Enzymological characterization reveals that IL-4I1 has L-amino acid oxidase activity with preference toward aromatic amino acids. Its limited expression in immune tissues, dendritic cells, and macrophages indicates that it may play an important function in the immune system. Source: A DNA sequence encoding recombinant mouse IL-4-induced gene 1 (amino residues 1 to 630; NP_034345, with a substitution Ala12Val) was expressed with a C-terminal 6X-His tag in a Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell line. Molecular Mass: The purified, secreted rmIL-4I1 has the N-terminal sequence, L21DWKAASSLN. The 616 amino acid residue rmIL-4I1 predicts a molecular mass of 69kD. By SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions the protein migrates with a molecular mass of approximately 86kD. Activity: Measured by its ability to produce hydrogen peroxide during the oxidation of phenylalanine. Endotoxin: (same/less than)1.0 EU/1ug (LAL) Storage and Stability: 12 months from date of receipt, 20 to 70 degrees C as supplied. 1 month, 2 to 8 degrees C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. 3 months, 20 to 70 degrees C under sterile conditions after reconstitution. Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
