Isopropyl-beta-D-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG) is a chemical analogue of lactose. Genes controlled by the lac or tac promoter/operator sequences are expressed to high levels in the presence of IPTG. Available as a 1M stock solution (240mg/ml). We recommend using IPTG Solution at a concentration of 0.1mM to 1mM.
