JMJD1B (JmjC Domain-containing Histone Demethylation Protein 2B, Jumonji Domain-containing Protein 1B, Nuclear Protein 5qNCA, JMJD1B, C5orf7, JHDM2B, KIAA1082, Lysine-specific Demethylase 3B)

JMJD1b, also known as Jumonji domain-containing protein 1b, is a 1761aa containing histone demethylase that specifically demethylates 'Lys-9' of histone H3, that generates formaldehyde and succinate, thereby playing a central role in histone code. A frequent deletion of this gene is found in myeloid leukemias and myelodysplasias, suggesting that it may be a good candidate for the del(5q) tumor suppressor gene and may have tumor suppressor activity. Reports suggest that it may also play a role in meiotic and postmeiotic germ cell development. JMJD1b, a member of the JHDM2 histone demethylase family, contains a JmjC domain and is ubiquitously expressed in most of the tissues with high expression in placenta, skeletal muscle, kidney, heart and liver.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:100-1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
