JWH 018 adamantyl analog is a mildly selective agonist of the peripheral cannabinoid receptor, where the naphthalene ring is substituted with an adamantyl group.1 Adamantyl substitutions provide structural rigidity and bulk. Though no biological activity has been reported for JWH 018 adamantyl analog, d8-THC analogs with adamantyl substituted for the carbon side chain demonstrate improved affinity and selectivity of central cannabinoid and peripheral cannabinoid receptor binding.2 This synthetic cannabinoid has been identified in a herbal product.3 ^max: 214, 247, 305nm Solubility: A stock solution may be made by dissolving the JWH 018 adamantyl analog in the solvent of choice. JWH 018 adamantyl analog is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, DMSO, and dimethyl formamide (DMF), which should be purged with an inert gas. The solubility of JWH 018 adamantyl analog in ethanol is approximately 1mg/ml and approximately 30mg/ml in DMSO and DMF. If aqueous stock solutions are required for biological experiments, they can best be prepared by diluting the organic solvent into aqueous buffers or isotonic saline. Ensure that the residual amount of organic solvent is insignificant, since organic solvents may have physiological effects at low concentrations. We do not recommend storing the aqueous solution for more than one day. Storage and Stability: Stable for 2 years at -20 degrees C.
