The Kinase Suppressor of Ras (KSR1) is a recently identified participant in the Ras signaling pathway. KSR is capable of uncoupling the MAP kinase activation from its target phosphorylation, and thus provide a novel mechanism for modulating the Ras-MAP kinase signaling pathway. The recently identified, B-KSR, is a related isoform. KSR is thought to phosphorylate and activate Raf-1, protecting against cytokine-mediated apoptosis. Recent studies suggest that KSR interacts with several components of the MAP kinase pathway, including Raf-1, MEK1/2 and ERK1/2. KSR seems to act as a scaffolding protein that coordinates the assembly of a membrane-localized, multiprotein MAP kinase complex, a vital step in Ras-mediated signal transduction.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin).\nOther applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot Analysis: 1:500-1:2000\nImmunocytochemistry: 1:50\nImmunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:100-250\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\n293 cell lysate.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only.
