Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein present in exocrine secretions and in the secondary granules of polymorphonuclear neutrophils. Lactoferrin is known to regulate intestinal iron absorption, and to participate in the defense against bacteria. Source: Lactoferrin, from human neutrophil.
