The Leptin receptor (OB receptor, OBR) is the receptor for the obesity factor (leptin). The Leptin Receptor is involved in the regulation of fat metabolism and in lymphopoiesis. The Leptin receptor is closely related to the gp130 signal transducing component common to the IL-6, LIF, CNTF and G-CSF receptors. The Leptin receptor has multiple isoforms (A-E) with isoform B (OBRb) being the long single-pass type I membrane receptor, isoform C (OBRa) carrying a short cytoplasmic domain, and isoform E a shorter secreted form. This antibody is against the short form (isoform C).
