Leptin Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 146 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 16kD.\n\nSource:\nStem cell factor Leptin Human Recombinant expressed in E. coli. Amino Acid Sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Ala-Val-Pro-Ile-Gln.\n\nProtein Content:\nProtein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods: 1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm using the absorbency value of 0.878 as the extinction coefficient for a 0.1% (1mg/ml) solution. This value is calculated by the PC GENE computer analysis program of protein sequences (IntelliGenetics). 2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of Leptin as a Reference Standard\n\nBiological Activity:\nBiological Activity is evidenced by inducing proliferation of BAF/3 cells stably transfected with the long form of human leptin receptor.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
