MAP Kinase 6 (Mitogen-activated Protein Kinase 6, MAPK 6, MAPK6, PRKM6, Extracellular Signal-regulated Kinase 3, ERK3, ERK-3, HsT17250, MAP Kinase Isoform p97, p97-MAPK, p97MAPK)

ERK3 (Extracellular signal-regulated kinase 3, MAPK6, p97 MAPK) belongs to the Ser/Thr protein kinase family and is a member of the mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase superfamily. Unlike the other members of the MAPK family, ERK3 is a mitogen-activated protein kinase homologue that has SEG motif instead of conserved TXY motif in the activation loop (1). Also, unlike ERK1 and ERK2, it is ubiquitously expressed and localized in the nucleus of proliferating cells (2). Highly unstable, ERK3 is constitutively degraded during ubiquitin-proteasome pathway of proliferating cells (3). ERK3 has been linked to phosphorylation MAP2 and as a possible regulator during cell differentiation (4). \n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nWestern Blot: 1:1000 \nImmunohistochemistry: 1:50 \nFlow Cytometry: 1:45 \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
