MKNK1 encodes a predicted 424aa protein containing a sequence typical of the catalytic domain of serine/threonine kinases and a putative N-terminal nuclear localization signal sequence.C-terminal region of MKNK1 was phosphorylated and activated in vivo and in vitro by ERK1 and p38 MAP kinases, but not by JNK/SAPK. The activated ERK is essential for the activation of MKNK1 in insect cells. MKNK1 was activated following stimulation of HeLa cells with a variety of extracellular stimuli. MNK1 bind tightly to the growth factor-regulated MAP kinases, Erk1 and Erk2, and also binds strongly to the stress-activated kinase, p38.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:1,000\nWestern Blot: 1:100-1:500\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Do not freeze horseradish peroxidase conjugates which could result in a substantial loss of enzymatic activity. Light sensitive. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
