Mouse anti-Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron Monoclonal antibody [clone C135M] for ELISA. Suitable for use in ELISA. Each laboratory should determine an optimum working titer for use in its particular application. Other applications have not been tested but use in such assays should not necessarily be excluded.Bacteroidesthetaiotaomicron is a Gram-negative anaerobe and is part of the normalintestinal flora. Bacteroides spp. comprising approximately 25% of themicrobiota in adults. B.thetaiotaomicron uses various polysaccharides as itssource of carbon and energy - Polysacharides (starch) are the primary form ofcarbohydrate available for bacterial consumption within the human colon. B.thetaiotaomicron is able to use amylose, amylopectin, and pullulan (all threeforms of starch) in addition to component maltooligosaccharides. Bacteroidesthetaiotaomicron is the second most common infectious anaerobic gram-negativebacteria. It is considered an opportunistic pathogen, frequently associatedwith peritonitis, septicemia, and wound infections. B. thetaiotaomicron iscapable of causing very serious infections, such as intra-abdominal sepsisand bacteremia. It"s resistance to antimicrobial agents (caused by theorganism"s many self-transmissable and mobile genetic elements) is a causefor major concern, and thus methods to identify B. thetaiotaomicron inclinical specimens is of utmost importance.
