NanoPorter consists of two components, a positively charged polymer with DNA-binding capacity which is embedded into a new porous nanoparticle.
The complete nanoparticle complex protects the bound DNA from degradation by nucleases and the uniform size DNA-nanoparticle complex is easily taken up by cells.
With consistently high transformation rates in adherant and suspension cells, nanoparticles offer an effective alternative to liposome-mediated transfection methods.
