Neurofilament protein, Medium Chain (NF-M)

Human Neurofilament Medium Chain (NF-M) is a 102.448 kD (916 aa) expressed in CNS and PNS neurons. This cytoskeletal protein is normally phosphorylated in vivo, and its extent of phosphorylation correlates with different states of axonal growth and stabilization. These observations have led to the hypothesis that the NF-M protein cross-links adjacent neurofilament strands, and contributes to the structural integrity of the axon.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. \n\nRecommended Dilutions: \nImmunohistochemistry: 1:2000-1:5000 using 2% paraformaldehyde tissues\nImmunocytochemistry: 1:2000-1:5000 using 2% paraformaldehyde cells\nWestern Blot: 1:5000-1:10,000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nRecommended Secondary Antibodies:\nI1906 IgY, Chicken Pab Rb x Ch \nI1906-10 IgY, Chicken (HRP) Rb x Ch \nI1906-12 IgY, Chicken (FITC) Rb x Ch \nI1906-14 IgY, Chicken (AP) Rb x Ch\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
