Neurog-1, ID (Neurogenic Differentiation Factor 1, NeuroD, NeuroD1, Neurod1, Neurod, Nrd)

Neurogenin1 (neurog1, ngn-1) is a basic helix-loop-helix gene and a member of the neurogenin category of genes. These genes are involved in expression of differentiation genes such as NeuroD and function as determination factors. Neurog1 is necessary to the development of all zebrafish cranial ganglia. Neurog1 regulatory elements are conserved among vertebrates, and function is partially conserved as well. The upstream region of zebrafish neurog1 is capable of recapitulating endogenous expression in both the zebrafish and mouse telencephalon. Neurog1, along with achaete/scute homologue 1a, functions downstream of the homeodomain transcription factor floating head to regulate epiphysial neurogenesis. Delta/Notch signaling represses neurog1 activity to promote the formation of the zebrafish neural crest.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA.
