TBK1, a 730aa protein, is a novel member of IKK-related kinase family. It is a homolog of IKK-2 and consists of a Leucine-Zipper motif and a HLH motif at the C-terminus. It plays a functional role in the activation of pathways involved in immune and inflammatory responses. It mediates NF-kappaB activation in a kinase-dependent manner in response to certain growth factors that stimulate PKC-epsilon activity. It forms a ternary complex with TANK and TRAF2 and regulates TRAF-mediated activation of NF-kappaB. It phosphorylates IKK complex and induces IkappaB degradation. It interacts with TRIF and TRAF6 and activates IRF3 and NF- kappaB, thus regulating Toll-like signaling pathway and TLR3-mediated IFNbeta production. TBK1 is a functional component of TNFalpha-TNFR1 signaling complex and regulates TNFalpha-mediated production of RANTES. Role of TBK1 has been implicated in Hepatitis C viral infections suggesting a pathological significance.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:100-1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
