NFkB is a heterodimeric DNA binding protein which was originally identified consisting of p65 and p50 (NFkB1) subunits. Research has led to the discovery of other subunits, including p52 (NFkB2), cRel, and RelB. NFkB is ubiquitously expressed, and functions as a second messenger which upon activation leads to the transcription of a number of genes. NFkB is activated by a number of agents, including pro-inflammatory cytokines and bacterial lipopolysaccharide, and is essential for the maturation of T cells and regulation of their survival and activation.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin), and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 5ug/ml\nELISA: 1:1,000-1:6,000\nWestern Blot: 1:200-1:2,000\nRequires antigen retrieval using heat treatment for 20 minutes prior to staining of paraffin sections. \nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control:\nHuman kidney\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
