NGFB (Beta-nerve Growth Factor, Beta-NGF, NGF, HSAN5, MGC161426, MGC161428)

Nerve growth factor-beta (NGF-b) is a potent neurotrophic factor which supports the growth and survivability of nerve and/or glial cells. The active form of human beta-NGF is is a noncovalently disulfide-linked homodimer, formed by two 13.5kD polypeptide monomers (238 total aa). The three disulfide bonds are required for biological activity.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Neutralization. Other applications not tested\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 0.5-2ug/ml. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Human beta-NGF as a detection antibody, allows the detection of 0.2-0.4ng/well of recombinant Human beta-NGF.\nWestern Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human beta-NGF is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.\nImmunohistochemistry(Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections): 0.5mg/ml with an overnight incubation at 4 degrees C. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen. Optimal results were achieved without antigen retrieval. Optimal concentrations and conditions may vary.\nNeutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition of the biological activity of Human beta-NGF (1ng/ml), a concentration of 0.05-0.08ug/ml of this antibody is required.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
