NBS1 is a member of the MRE/RAD50/nibrin double-strand break repair complex of 1600kD and is necessary for localization of Rad50/Mre11 at DSB sites, and for the nucleolytic activities of this complex. Mice homozygous for null alleles of Nbs1 are inviable, while those with mutations corresponding to the common human mutation recapitulate the NBS phenotype.\nNijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS, nibrin) is an autosomal recessive chromosomal instability syndrome characterized by microcephaly, growth retardation, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition.\n\nPositive Control: MCF7, HeLa, Raji\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
