Dietary consumption and intestinal cholesterol absorption contribute to plasma cholesterol levels, which factor into the risk of coronary heart disease. Niemann-Pick type C1 Like 1 protein (NPC1L1 or NPC3) is enriched in the small intestine and is found in the brush border membrane of enterocytes. It plays a critical role in absorption of intestinal cholesterol.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in Western Blot, Immunofluorescence and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:100-1:250\nWestern Blot: 1:500 detects a band at ~140kD representing NPC1L1 and a non-specific band may be observed at ~45kD depending on the lysate used.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
