Nitrotyrosine (nTyr)

The presence of nitrotyrosine has been detected in various inflammatory processes including atherosclerotic placques. Nitrotyrosine is formed in tissues in presence of the active metabolite NO. Various pathways including the formation of peroxinitrite lead to nitrotyrosine production.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry (Fr) (paraffin-embedded sections). Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

This highly specific monoclonal antibody reacts with nitrotyrosine, both with the free amino acid as well as with proteins containing nitrotyrosine. The antibody does not recognize other antigens with a nitrotyrosine-like structure such as tyrosine, 3-chlorotyrosine and phenylalanine, illustrating the specificity of the antibody.
