NKD2 (Protein Naked Cuticle Homolog 2, Naked-2, hNkd2)

Naked1 (Nkd1) and Naked2 (Nkd2) are homologs of Drosophila Naked cuticle, a negative regulator of Wnt/Wingless signaling pathway which functions through a feedback mechanism. Both Drosophila and vertebrate Naked proteins contain a putative calcium-binding EF-hand motif; however, Drosophila Naked binds to zinc instead of calcium. Naked inhibits the canonical Wnt/B-catenin pathway by binding to Dishevelled proteins and directs Dishevelled activity towards the planar cell polarity pathway. Naked1 is a direct target of Wnt signaling and is overexpressed in some colon tumors due to constitutive activation of Wnt/B-catenin pathway. Naked2 is myristoylated and is required for sorting of TGF-alpha to the basolateral plasma membrane of polarized epithelial cells.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:32,000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
