Nkx-2.5, CT (Homeodomain Protein Nkx2.5, nkx2.5)

Nk2 transcription factor related 5 (nkx-2.5) is a member of the Nk-2 family of homeobox genes. Along with nkx-2.3, nkx-2.5 is a vertebrate homolog of the Drosophila homeobox gene, tinman. In zebrafish, nkx- 2.5 and nkx-2.7 function redundantly and are required for cardiogenesis in zebrafish. However, nkx-2.7 is more critical as shown by gain-of- function and loss-of-function studies. However, their precise function during cardiogenesis remains unclear. In humans, defects in nkx-2.5 are the cause of several diseases, including atrial septal defect with atrioventricular conduction defects (a congenital heart malformation), tetralogy of Fallot (a congenital heart defect) and congenital hypothyroidism non-goitrous type 5 (characterized by resistance to thyroid-stimulating hormone).\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:5000-1:20,000\nImmunohistochemistry: 1:300-1:500\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:1000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nControl Peptide: N2850-18P\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
