Notch 2 is an important signalling protein which is critical for embryonic development. Notch 2 is a type 1 transmembrane protein that is activated by Delta1, Jagged1 and Jagged2. Activation results in cleavage and translocation of the Notch intracellular domain (NICD) to the nucleus, where it functions as a transcriptional regulator. Notch 2 activation results in differentiation and proliferation in many cells, in particular in myeloid cell differentiation, functioning in the maturation of CD8 thymocytes and the development of Marginal Zone B cells. Recently Notch 2 mutations have been shown to exist in a minority of patients suffering from Alagille syndrome (AGS), a dominant, multi-system disorder. Notch 2 mutations can also be oncogenic, for example in B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (B-CLL).\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nELISA: 1:30,000-1:90,000\nWestern Blot: 1:400-1:2000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
