031416 was one of a series of clones which strongly and specifically labelled the nuclear pore complex. When this antibody was tested on cells from other species, including rat, mouse and human cells, it has invariably strongly stained nuclear pore complexes, so it appears to be an excellent and panspecific marker for these important structures. 031416 does not work well on Western Blots so we are currently unsure of the exact identity of the protein to which it binds.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunofluorescence: For yeast cells, try diluted 1:100-1:500. For immunofluorescence on mammalian cells try at 1:50-1:100.
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
