p53, mutant, Recombinant, Human (Tumor Suppressor Protein, Oncogene Protein)

p53 is a tumor suppressor gene expressed in a wide variety of tissue types and is involved in regulating cell growth, replication, and apoptosis. It binds to mdm2, SV40 T antigen and human papilloma virus E6 protein p53 senses DNA damage and possibly facilitating repair. Mutation involving p53 is found in a wide variety of malignant tumors, including breast, ovarian, bladder, colon, lung, and melanoma.\n\nRecombinant Mutant p53 shows a band at 81kD on SDS-PAGE commassie blue stained gel.\n\nDimers and Aggregates:\n(same/less than) 1% as determined by coomassie blue SDS-PAGE gel analysis.\n\nEndotoxin:\n(same/less than) 0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug) of Human Mutant p53.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
