Parainfluenza Virus Type 2, Strain II ALTBcc2056

Parainfluenza virus 2 is one of four serotypes of parainfluenza viruses in the paramoxyvirus family. Parainfluenza viruses are the second most common cause of lower respiratory tract infections in young children. Parainfluenza virus 2 causes upper and lower respiratory tract illnesses and croup.\n\nSource:\nParainfluenza Type 2 virus, Strain II ALTBcc2056, from MA 104 cells.\n\nInactivation: inactivated with 0.05% Thimerosal\n\nApplication: \nSuitable for use in serological studies of parainfluenza virus, immunogen for antibody production. \n\nRecommended Dilution:\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
