Pressure cycling technology (PCT) is an efficient biological sample preparation technology and a patented technology developed by Pressure BioSciences Inc (PBI), USA. It uses pressure cycling between atmospheric pressure and ultra-high (liquid) pressure (35,000 PSI or higher), repeatedly breaking cells and enabling the extraction of important biomolecules such as proteins from various samples (cells and tissues from humans, animals, plants, and microorganisms).
