PDGFRb (Platelet-derived growth factor receptor, beta polypeptide)

Platelet-derived growth factor receptor, beta polypeptide, also known as PDGFRB, PDGFRb or CD140B. It is a cell surface tyrosine kinase receptor for members of the platelet-derived growth factor family. This family exist as several disulphide-bonded, dimeric isoforms (PDGF AA, PDGF AB, PDGF BB, PDGF CC and PDGF DD) that bind in a specific pattern to two closely related receptor tyrosine kinases, PDGF receptor a (PDGFRa) and PDGF receptor b (PDGFRb). These growth factors are mitogens for cells of mesenchymal origin. PDGFRB is flanked on chromosome 5 by the genes for granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor and macrophage-colony stimulating factor receptor; all three genes may be implicated in the 5-q syndrome. A translocation between chromosomes 5 and 12, that fuses this gene to that of the translocation, ETV6, leukemia gene, results in chronic myeloproliferative disorder with eosinophilia.\n\nApplications:\nWestern Bloting: 1:500-1:2000.\nELISA: Suggested dilution 1:10000.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
