Vbeta13 T cell receptor (TCR Vbeta13) is a variant of TCR beta chain that along with TCR alpha chain forms the TCR heterodimer. In association with the CD3 complex, TCR alpha/beta is responsible for antigen recognition in the MHC-Peptide complex and initiation of T cell-mediated immune responses. The most frequently beta chains found in the immune response to myelin basic protein (MBP) in B10.PL mice are Vbeta13 and Vbeta8.2.
