The protein encoded by this gene coats lipid storage droplets in adipocytes, thereby protecting them until they can be broken down by hormone-sensitive lipase. The encdoneoded protein is the major cAMP-dependent protein kinase substrate in adipocytes and, when unphosphorylated, may play a role in the inhibition of lipolysis.
Applications:
Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
Immunofluorescence: 1ug/ml
ELISA: 1:32,000
Western Blot: 0.01-0.03ug/ml, observed in human adipose lysates on ~55-60kD bands
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
