Phenol Red Broth Base (Powder)

A basal medium to which carbohydrates are added to observe fermentation reactions.\n\nMode of Action:\nFermentation of the added reactant by the inoculated culture causes phenol red to change its color from red to yellow. When testing anaerobes, addition of a small quantity of agar stabilizes the anaerobiosis.\n\nTypical Quality Control:\nTest strains \nStaphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923\nEnterococcus faecalis ATCC 11700\nKlebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 13883\nProteus vulgaris ATCC 13315\nShigella flexneri ATCC 12022\nSalmonella typhimurium ATCC 14028
