Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor Type 1, peptide annealed, Human (PAI-1)

Plasminogen Activator Inhibitor 1 (PAI-1) is a glycoprotein found in plasma that is implicated in the processes of angiogenesis, hemostasis, tumor metastasis, fibrionlysis, ovulation, embryonic development and inflammation (1). The elevation of PAI-1 has shown to correlate with the prognosis of many cancers including breast cancer (2,3,4). PAI-1 is activated by the glycoprotein vitronectin. Vitronectin binds to PAI-1 and modulates fibrinolysis and cell migration (5). This binding has proven to be an important inhibitor of the activated form of protein C (APC) (6).\n\nPhysical Appearance:\nColorless frozen solution\n\nSolubility:\n>2mg/ml and <5mg/ml\n\nAbsorbance (280nm): 0.5 E0.1% = 1.0\nConcentration = 0.5mg/ml\nActive Concentration = 0.5mg/ml\n\nBuffer Composition:\n0.05M sodium phosphate; 0.1M sodium chloride; 1mM EDTA; pH 6.6\n\nPurity:\n>98% pure by SDS PAGE 95 (+/-) 5% active by uPA titration.\n\nActs as a substrate for plasminogen activators.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nStore frozen at -70 degrees C пїЅ stability >1 year.
