Cat no: P4258

Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA, Recombinant, Human (PDGF-AA)

PDGFs are disulfide-linked dimers consisting of two 12.0-13.5kD polypeptide chains, designated PDGF-A and PDGF-B chains. The three naturally occurring PDGFs; PDGF-AA, PDGF-BB and PDGF-AB, are potent mitogens for a variety of cell types including smooth muscle cells, connective tissue cells, bone and cartilage cells, and some blood cells. The PDGFs are stored in platelet alpha-granules and are released upon platelet activation. The PDGFs are involved in a number of biological processes, including hyperplasia, chemotaxis, embryonic neuron development, and respiratory tubule epithelial cell development. Two distinct signaling receptors used by PDGFs have been identified and named PDGFR-alpha and PDGFR-beta. PDGFR-alpha is high-affinity receptor for each of the three PDGF forms. On the other hand, PDGFR-beta interacts with only PDGF-BB and PDGF-AB. Recombinant human PDGF-AA is a 28.5kD disulfide-linked homodimer of two A chains (250aa).F.\n\nBiological Activity: \nDetermined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by Balb/c 3T3 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is (same/less than)1ng/ml.\n\nConcentration Range: 0.2-10ng/ml for most in vitro applications.\n\nAA Sequence: \nSIEEAVPAVC KTRTVIYEIP RSQVDPTSAN FLIWPPCVEV KRCTGCCNTS SVKCQPSRVH HRSVKVAKVE YVRKKPKLKE VQVRLEEHLE CACATTSLNP DYREEDTGRP RESGKKRKRK RLKPT\n\nStorage and Stability:\nLyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C Stable for 12 months. Reconstitute with 10mM acetic acid. Aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 3 months with a carrier protein. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.\n\nCountry of Origin: USA\n\nAlso Available:\nP4258: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA, Recombinant, Human (PDGF-AA)\nP4258-01: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA, Recombinant, Human (PDGF-AA)\nP4258-01A: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA, Recombinant, Human (PDGF-AA)\nP4258-03: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA, Recombinant, Human (PDGF-AA) Mab Mo xHu\nP4258-04: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA (PDGF-AA) Pab Rb xHu\nP4258-04A: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA (PDGF-AA) (Biotin) Pab Rb xHu\nP4258-14: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA (PDGF-AA) (Biotin) Pab Rb xHu\nP4258-16A: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA (PDGF-AA) Pab Rb xHu\nP4258-19: Platelet Derived Growth Factor AA,AB,BB Neutralizing (PDGF-AA,AB,BB) Pab Gt xHu
