The Protein Kinase Inhibitor is a selective inhibitor of p38 mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase, which acts by competitively inhibiting ATP binding. This compound inhibits p38 MAPK stimulation of MAPKAPK2 (IC50 = 70nM) and is a useful tool for assessing the physiological roles of p38.
Biological Activity:
Ki = 21nM, determined by measuring competitive inhibition of ATP binding.
Solubility:
Soluble in DMSO at a concentration of 50mg/ml.
Storage and Stability:
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degrees C. Stable for 12 months at -20 degrees C. Reconstitute with DMSO. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
