Rabbit Anti-Human Nkx2.5 monoclonal antibody for ICC. NKX2-5 is a transcription factor protein which plays a crucial role in cardiac development and differentiation. It is a low molecular weight protein of 35-38 kDa depending on phosphorylation status. Expression is mainly restricted to the heart. But during embryogenesis NKX2-5 expression has also been detected in spleen-precursor cells. Over expression of NKX2-5 resulted in expression of neuronal markers in C2C12 murine myogenic cells. Functionally it is involved in differentiation processes in heart development and in homeostasis and survival of cardiac myocytes as well maintains the initial muscle differentiation paradigm.
