IL-5 is a homodimeric, disulphide-linked protein produced by T-cells. The native protein can have variable molecular weight as a result of glycosylation. Monomeric mouse IL-5 is a 113 amino acid protein with a reported molecular weight of 35-37 kD for the homodimeric protein. Mouse and human IL-5 are approximately 70% identical. IL-5 has been shown to promote the growth of immature hematopoietic BFU-E progenitors and stimulates the activation, and differentiation of eosinophils, and promotes the generation of cytotoxic lymphocytes . Mouse IL-5 induces the differentiation and proliferation of pre-activated B-cells and stimulates the production and secretion of IgM and IgA by B-cells stimulated with bacterial endotoxin.
Catalogue number: 576709
Applications: ELISA
Size: 4 pack
Gene: 16191
Dilutions: Each lot of this protein is quality control tested by ELISA assay. For use as an ELISA standard, a standard curve comprised of doubling dilutions from 250 pg/ml to 2 pg/ml is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Storage buffer: Upon receipt, store unopened vials at 4C immediately and use within 12 months from date of receipt. Prior to use, reconstitute the lyophilized powder with 0.2 ml of PBS containing a carrier protein (e.g., 1% BSA, protease free), pH7.4. Re-cap vial, vortex. Allow the reconstituted standard to sit at room temperature for 15 minutes, vortex again to mix completely. The reconstituted standard stock solution can be aliquoted into polypropylene vials and stored at -70C for up to one month. Do not re-use diluted standards. Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles.
