Resistin-like molecule beta (RELM-beta; Found in inflammatory zone 2; FIZZ2) is a homodimeric protein belonging to the RELM/FIZZ family of cysteine rich secretory proteins. The gut-derived hormone RELM-beta is a regulator of insulin sensitivity, possibly involved in insulin resistance induced by obesity. RELM-beta was shown to impair insulin signaling via the activations of classic MAPKs, and increased expression of RELM-beta was involved in the pathogenesis of glucose intolerance and hyperlipidemia in insulin-resistant models.
Sequence:
Mouse RELM-beta (aa 24-105) is fused at the N-terminus to a FLAG(R)-tag.
Storage and Stability:
Short-term Storage: +4 degrees C
Long-term Storage: -20 degrees C
Working aliquots are stable for up to 3 months when stored at -20 degrees C.
