Resistin-like Molecule, alpha (RELMa)

RELM-alpha/FIZZ1/PMNG1 (Parasite-induced Macrophage Novel Gene 1 (prepeptides: mouse/rat 111aa; ~77% identity) is 63% related to resistin at the C-terminus (38aa). The N-terminus of RELM-alpha is less conserved at the N-terminus. RELM-alpha mRNA was most abundant in white adipose tissue. It is also expressed in mammary tissue with significant fat pads. Unlike resistin, RELM-alpha is not expressed in 3T3-L1 adipocyte or in preadipocytes. It is also found in heart, lung and tongue, where resistin is absent. In mice, RELM-alpha/FIZZ1 is found at low levels in a subset of bronchial epithelial cells and in non-neuronal cells adjacent neurovascular bundles in the peribronchial stroma, and in the wall of the large and small bowel. FIZZ1 expression is induced hypertrophic, hyperplastic bronchial epithelium.\n\nApplications: \nSuitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilutions:\nWestern Blot: 1-5ug/ml (ECL)\nELISA: 1:10,000-1:100,000 using 50-100ng of control peptide/well.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nControl Peptide: \nR1587-03: Resistin-like Molecule, alpha, Mouse, Control Peptide (RELMa)\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
