Rhizopus Arrhizus

R. arrhizus, an angio-invasive filamentous fungus, is one of the main causative agents of systemic bovine and human zygomycosis, a worldwide and often fatal respiratory disease. R1997-50 has been successfully used in immunohistochemistry for the specific and consistent in situ diagnosis of systemic bovine zygomycosis, attributed to its possible binding to a highly glycosylated moiety on non-structural components. \n\nR1997-50 does not bind to water-soluble somatic antigens (WSSA) of Aspergillus spp.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in ELISA, Immunohistochemistry (paraffin), and Western Blot. Not suitable for Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nImmunohistochemistry (paraffin): 1:50\nRequires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections.\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. \n\nHybridoma: \nX63-Ag8.653 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c ABom mice.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

Recognizes Rhizopus arrhizus and other members of the family Mucoraceae, known as Absidia corymbifera and Rhizomucor pusillus, reacting strongly with the cytoplasm of hyphae and also possibly with the walls and septae, where present.
