Ribosomal Protein S6, phosphorylated (Ser235)

S6 (Ribosomal protein S6, RpS6, 40S ribosomal protein S6) is known to play a role in cell growth and proliferation. It lays downstream of both the PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway as a substrate of p70 S6 kinase and the Ras/Erk pathway as a substrate of RSK. S6 is phosphorylated in response to stimulation by growth factors, tumor promoting agents, and mitogens. It is dephosphorylated at growth arrest. There are two major areas of S6 phosphorylation; Ser235/Ser236 that is known to be phosphorylated by both p70S6 Kinase as well as RSK as well as Ser240/244 which is thought to only be phosphorylated by p70S6K.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1:500-1:2000\nOptimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.\n\nPositive Control: \nSerum stimulated 3T3 cell lysate.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
