RNF39 lies within the major histocompatibility complex class I region on chromosome 6. Studies of a similar rat protein suggest that this gene encodes a protein that plays a role in an early phase of synaptic plasticity. Alternative splicing results in three transcript variants encoding different isoforms. May play a role in prolonged long term-potentiation (LTP) maintenance. Contains 1 RING-type zinc finger.
Applications:
Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested.
Recommended Dilution:
ELISA: 1:16,000
Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml, observed in human brain lysates on ~40kD bands
Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher.
Storage and Stability:
May be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
