RSK 4 (RSK4, pp90RSK4, p90-RSK 6, Ribosomal Protein S6 Kinase alpha 6, RPS6KA6, S6K-alpha 6)

Members of the p90 ribosomal S6 kinase (RSK) family are substrates of the Ras/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK).1 The RSK family consists of four isoforms (RSK1 to -4) and two structurally related cousins, known as RSK-like protein kinase (RLPK/MSK1) and RSKB (MSK2). RSK4 shows a high level of homology to the three previously isolated members of the human RSK family. RSK4 is most abundantly expressed in brain and kidney, and plays a role in normal\nneuronal development, and is commonly deleted in patients with complex X-linked mental retardation.\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested.\n\nRecommended Dilution:\nWestern Blot: 1-3ug/ml\nOptimal dilution to be determined by the researcher.\n\nStorage and Stability:\nMay be stored at 4 degrees C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20 degrees C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20 degrees C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Recognizes human RSK4 protein at ~84kD. A band of unknown origin is observed at ~100kD in HEK293 lysates. Reactivity has been confirmed with RSK4-transfected HEK293 cell lysates. This antibody does not cross react with RSK1. \n
