RuvB-Like 1 (RUVBL1, ECP54, NMP238, RVB1, TIP49, TIP49A)

RUVBL1, also known as TIP49A, is a member of the AAA+ family and component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, which is involved in transcriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A (1, 2, 3). This modification may both alter nucleosome-DNA interactions and promote interaction of the modified histones with other proteins, positively regulating transcription (2). This complex may be required for the activation of transcriptional programs associated with oncogene and proto-oncogene mediated growth induction; tumor suppressor mediated growth arrest and replicative senescence; apoptosis; and double-strand break repair (2). RUVBL1 is ubiquitously expressed with high expression in the heart, skeletal muscle and testis (2).\n\nApplications:\nSuitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation.
